SKINCARE | The miracle Retinol -Acne Treatment Final Step

Retinol, aka Vitamin A1, which is one of the forms of vitamin A, is one of the most popular chemical used in skincare, especially in anti-aging products. You might also known it as retinoic acid, retin-A (prescription only).

So basically, retinol "encourages"collagen production, it makes your skin feel more smooth and also even out your skin tone. This is great for the final step of your acne treatment because it really speeds up the healing process.

However, there are few things you need to know before using:
1. Avoid to use retinol during pregnancy!!
During pregnancy, you probably want to use other alternative such as vitamin C, Kojic Acid, even soy as your replacement. Many of my friends use Clarins stretch mark control cream, results are varies.

2. Use retinol product at night time only. If you paid attention, many retinol products are bottled in opaque packaging, that is because retinoids break down in sunlight, which will increase the chances of sunburn.

3. Apply retinoids on DRY skin. Not wet or damp, but dry skin. Dry surface helps the vitamin A to repair skin cells.

To some people, it works over night, a friend of mine (16 years old) has severe acne problem. After using retinol, he saw a major difference within few days. To me, it usually takes two weeks for my acne scar to completely heal. So the results definitely varies for everyone, but nevertheless, I have to say, Vitamin A works!

There are so many great products out there that contains retinol, you don't necessary have to spend a fortune. ROC retinol night cream is great, you can get it at basically any drugstore. Whatever works for your budget.

This is my personal favorite, you can get it at Amazon for around $10, it works great, last long time, also in a great price.
Have you tried Retinol products that work for you? How do you like it?

SKINCARE | Acne Treatment - Step 2

For every types of skincare, it is very important to clean. For different skin problem, I highly recommend for different cleanser. But we are not here talking about cleanser, it is for another day 😊

After a good cleans, it is important, and good to use a toner. A toner acts as a second cleanser. Because some time when we rinse the face, there are still some leftover.

If you have normal-combination skin, which is my skin type, this number 2 water from really works. It is a clarifying lotion, which not only cleans, but also help the redness.

If you are sensitive skin, then try Avene thermal spring water. The entire brand is dedicated to sensitive skin, it will not harm your already "broken" skin. Also, for sensitive skin, I highly recommend to use alcohol free products.
